Botswana (Republic of Botswana), is a presidential republic of Southern Africa, a former English colony, whose capital is Gaborone, the country is landlocked, it bordered to the north and west with Namibia, to the north with Zambia, to the north-east with Zimbabwe, to the south-east and south with South Africa. Its territory is formed in large part by a steppa plateau which has an average height around 1,000 metres, to the south-west it's occupied by the Kalahari desert. The largest river of Botswana is the Okavango, who has its sources in Angola and disperses its waters in the so-called Okavango Delta, a vast wet area, located in the north of the country, during the floods, the river is able to cross the zone of the delta and with the name of Botletle river, continues his corse toward the salt basin of Makgadikgadi Pan. In the north-west of the country is the highest mountain of Botswana, the Tsodilo Hills, which reaches 1,489 meters. Botswana has rich mineral deposits, especially diamonds, nickel, copper, coal, manganese and cobalt, a certain importance has also breeding, while agriculture is disadvantage by the climate. Regarding tourism, Botswana is from a naturalistic point of view one of the most attractive destinations of the continent, there are many national parks that cover more than 17% of the territory of the country, among the areas most famous are Okavango Delta, Kalahari Desert, Chobe National Park and the Makgadikgadi Pan.
