UNESCO has inscribed 1 Botswana site in the World Heritage List: Tsodilo (2001).

Tsodilo, situated in the Kalahari Desert, to the nord-west of the country, near the border with Namibia, it's a place with one of the highest concentrations of rock art in the world, Tsodilo has been called the 'Louvre of the Desert'. Over 4,500 paintings are preserved in an area of only 10 sqkm. The archaeological record of the area gives a chronological account of human activities and environmental changes over at least 100,000 years.

 

Interesting for a visit are also: Kalagadi Tranfrontier National Park a national park formed by the union of the Gemsbok National Park (Botswana) and the Kalahari Gemsbok Park (South Africa). The Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Nxai Pan National Park, Matsieng Rock Carvings, Mokolodi Nature Reserve and Nata Bird Sanctuary.
