The Cape Verde Islands are located in the tropical climate zone, they have a type of semi-desertic tropical climate tempered by the trade winds blowing constantly. Temperatures vary little during the year, the maximum average temperatures vary between 30°C and 25°C, while the average minimum temperatures vary between 25°C and 19°C, the cooler months are those between December and March.

The short rainy season is during the months between August and October, but the rain that falls is poor, the island of Sal for example does not even reach 70 mm per year, the amount of rain, however, varies from island to island, it can switch from 10 mm to 900 mm per year, on the island of Santiago where lies the capital Praia, the average annual rainfall is 260 mm. The blowing of wind is a constant in the islands, starting from October until June blows the Harmattan, a dry and dusty wind from the Sahara. Every month of the year are suitable for a visit in the islands of Cape Verde.
