The rainy season, hot and humid, is from November to April, while the dry and relatively cool season running from May to October. The rains usually fall during the night. The mountainous islands receive more rainfall of coral atolls, the island of Mahé receives an annual average of about 2 200 mm of rain, Praslin about 1 500 mm, while the coral atoll of Aldabra stops at 600 mm of rainfall per year. The islands are outside the area affected by the hurricanes, and these are a pretty rare event, only the southern islands of the Amirante Islands, Cosmoledo Islands, Farquhar Islands and the Islands of Aldabra may be affected by cyclones in January and February . Temperatures remain constant with minor variations, the maximum average temperatures vary during the year between 31°C in March and April and 28°C in July and August, average minimum temperatures remain around 24°C to 25°C throughout the year. The sea water temperature varies between 26° C and 30° C. The best months to visit the Seychelles are those, cooler and dry, from April to October.
