Durban, situated in the KwaZulu-Natal Province, is an important port city, and with about 3 000 000 inhabitants, it's the second most populous city in South Africa. Durban is a famous tourist center thanks to its warm sub-tropical climate and its beaches. The city is placed along the sides of the Indian ocean in an enormous natural lagoon that forms its bay, in the interior is a range of hills that are the remains of fossilized sand-dunes.
 

2010 FIFA WORLD CUP: Durban, is among the 9 South African cities that between 11 June and 11 July 2010 will host the World Cup soccer championships.
