Rustenburg (about 400 000 inhabitants) is a town in the North-West Province, it lies at 100 km north-west of Johannesburg, nestled at the foothills of the breathtaking Magaliesburg Mountains, in the Highveld Plateau at about 1500 above sea level. Rustenburg is an important mining town it's home to the two largest platinum mines in the world and the world's largest platinum refinery, which processes around 70% of the world's platinum.

2010 FIFA WORLD CUP: Rustenburg, is among the 9 South African cities that between 11 June and 11 July 2010 will host the World Cup soccer championships.

CLIMATE: The town of Rustenburg has a sub-tropical climate with mild winters, but cold nights because of altitude, and hot and humid summers, rains are concentrated in the months between October and March, the most rainy month is December, the average annual rainfall is slightly lower 520 mm.
