The area of the Augrabies Falls National Park is very dry and presents a landscape of rocks made by evocative names like Moon Rock, Ararat and Echo Corner. A dirt road leads to several view points along the Orange River Gorge and it crosses a magnificent landscape. In the park numerous live plants (Kokerboom (quiver trees, Aloe dichotoma), and various species of succulent typical of this part of South Africa) and animals (Klipspringer, springbok, gemsbok, steenbok, antelope, eland, dassies, mongooses, giraffe, leopard, caracal, African wildcat, raptors and other birds, lizards, snakes).
