El Salvador (República de El Salvador) is a presidential rebubblic of Central America bordering to the east and north with Honduras to the north-west with Guatemala and faces the Pacific Ocean to the south, the capital is the city of San Salvador. El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country of Central America, the area is characterized by a central plateau, fertile and well-cultivated, with an average altitude around 600 meters, and two mountain chains of volcanic origin, the northern chain is the Sierra Madre, which runs along the border with Honduras, here is the highest mountain in the country, Cerro El Pital (2,730 metres).
The southern chain, which runs along the Pacific coast, is made up of numerous volcanic cones between these: Chingo Volcano (1775 metres), Izalco Volcano (1954 meters), Santa Ana Volcano (the highest volcano in the country, 2 381 metres), San Miguel Volcano (2130 meters), San Salvador Volcano (1893 meters), San Vicente Volcano (2182 metres). El Salvador economy is based on agriculture (coffee, cotton, sugar cane, maize, rice, beans, tobacco, citrus fruits, sesame), a certain importance is also coated in breeding (cattle), industrial activity is linked to the processing of agricultural products (food industries, sugar, tobacco, beer, cotton).
