The coast of the Caribbean Sea is more rainy, here the rainy season is long 9 months, while the dry season is between March and May, the annual average temperatures are 26°C, while the average annual precipitation is 3,800 mm, in September-October may be hurricanes. The mountainous northern region has a cooler climate, with average annual temperatures of 18°C in this area the average annual rainfall is 1000-1500 mm, concentrated in the months between May and October. The best period for visiting Nicaragua is the dry season from December to April.
