CLIMATE: WHEN TO GO TO PUERTO RICO

The island of Puerto Rico enjoys a warm and humid tropical climate, with average annual temperatures of 26°C and with rain well distributed throughout the year. The wet period coincides with the months ranging from May to October, the wettest month is August. The northern coast is the most rainy of the island with 1550 mm per year, while the south coast has an annual average rainfall of 910 mm, in absolute mountains of interior receive more rainfall, between 3000 and 4000 mm annually. The hurricanes can arrive on the island between August and November. The best period for a visit of Puerto Rico is the relatively dry season between November and May.
