The island of Saint-Barthélemy (Collectivité d'outre-mer de Saint-Barthélemy), former Swedish colony, is now a French overseas community in the Lesser Antilles located between Saint Martin to the north-west and Saint Kitts and Nevis to the south. The community is formed from the main island of Saint-Barthélemy (21 sq km) where is the capital Gustavia, and numerous islands including: île Chevreau, Coco, île Fourchue, Frégate island, La Tortue, île Le Boulanger, Les Grenadins , Pain de Sucre, île Pelé, île Petit Jean. The highest point on the island of Saint-Barthélemy is Morne Vitet (286 metres). The main economic activity is tourism, are also practiced agriculture and fisheries.

Population: 8 450 (2007 data) (in majority Europeans).

State Capital: Gustavia.

Language: Official language is French. Used the French Creole.

Religion: Catholic.

Currency: Euro (EUR)
