Both Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are volcanic in origin, the island of Saint Vincent, almost entirely mountainous, is dominated by the active volcano Soufrière (1,234 metres), the highest mountain in the country. The economy of the islands is based on Agriculture (bananas, nutmeg, mace, coconuts, cotton, sugar cane, arrowroot, a particular kind of starch, of which Saint Vincent is the world's leading producer), breeding, financial activities and fishing. Growing is tourism, especially in the Grenadines Islands.
