Bahrain (Dawlat al-Bahrain) is an emirate made up of about 30 islands situated off the east coast of the Arabian peninsula in the Persian Gulf, between the peninsula of Qatar and the coast of Saudi Arabia, the capital is Manama. The islands are formed by sandy and coral, the most important are: Bahrain, the largest (572 sq km), Hawar (38 sq km), Umm Nasan (19 sq km), Muharraq (17 sq km), Sitra (10 sq km). The highest point of the country is at the Jabal Dukhan (122 metres) on the island of Bahrain.
 

Bahrain's economy is based on the exploitation of oil, petroleum refining, finance and trade. Agriculture is developed and produces dates, citrus, fruits, rice, tomatoes, vegetables, a certain importance is coated on fishing in particular oysters.
