To the north is the Barind, a corrugated flatland situated between the Ganges and the Brahmaputra rivers. The only hilly areas of the country are the hills of Chittagong and a small area of the Shillong. The highest peak in the country, Mount Mowdok Mual (1,052 meters), is located on the border with Burma (Myanmar). The Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world, its economy is based on agriculture (rice, wheat, barley, legumes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cotton, tobacco, citrus, sugar cane, oil seeds, bananas, mangoes, pineapple, jute and tea), widespread breeding (cattle, buffalo), fishing (herring, shrimp) and forestry (rare wood). The only industrial activities of a certain importance are those related to the processing of agricultural products and the manufacture of textiles.
