AITUTAKI

Aitutaki (18 sq km and 2 000 inhabitants), situated 235 km north-east of Rarotonga, is the island of the Cook Islands, after Rarotonga, most frequented by tourists, it is an island of volcanic origin rather flat (the highest point of the island is the Maungapu, a hill that reaches 124 meters), surrounded by a beautiful triangular lagoon dotted by numerous islets (motu). The only vilage of the island is Arutanga, located at the center of the west coast of the island. All the small islands that dotted the island lagoon are places of paradise, One Foot Island, for example, is a small sandy island in the southeast area of Aitutaki lagoon, for its beauty is probably the most popular attraction on the island, it has white sand and crystal clear water.

Air Rarotonga performs daily flights from Rarotonga to Aitutaki, it is also possible to make a one-day excursion from Rarotonga, but considering the beauty of the lagoon, it is advisable to stop at least two nights in Aitutaki.
