TOURIST ATTRACTIONS: WHAT TO VISIT IN SAMOA

An independent state since 1962, Samoa has succeeded in proudly preserving its age old Polynesian culture and the village lifestyle of its people, like a living history book opening up in front of the visitor. Samoa is a truly rare and wonderful experience. The natural assets of the land, the warm climate and people who are genuine and warm, these are the most special attractions of Samoa.

Robert Louis Stevenson spent the last two years of his life, and is buried at the top of Mount Vaea. Visitors should also see the grounds and home of Robert Louis Stevenson, which is now the official residence of the Head of State.

Where ever you go in Samoa you can always find a place to swim. Most of the coastline is protected by a reef and the crystal clear lagoons are ideal for the swimmer or underwater enthusiasts interested in snorkelling or diving.

Places of interest in both Upolu and Savaii offer a wide variety of scenic attractions of historical and cultural interest. The visitors staying a week or less will probably concentrate on seeing many sights of Upolu.
