Partially Albanians are the lakes of Shkodra, Ohrid and Prespa, among these the largest is Shkodra Lake (Liqeni i Shkodrës, about 400 square kilometers), which is the largest Lake of the Balkan peninsula, it is located in the north of the country along the border with Montenegro; in east Albania are Lake Ohrid (Liqeni Ohrit, 358 sq. km), on the border with Macedonia, the Great Prespa (Prespa e Madhi, 314 sq. km), on the border with Macedonia and Greece, and the Small Prespa (Prespa e Vogel, 47 sq. km) on the border with Greece. The country is poor in resources, at the basis of the Albanians economy are breeding (sheep and goats), agriculture (corn, wheat, olives) and the exploitation of mineral resources (oil, chromium, copper, nickel, lignite). Fishing is quite developed along the coasts and lakes. The industry is based on textile plants, enrichment of copper ore, production of cigarettes. | ||||||||||||||||
