PODSTRANA

Podstrana is a small resort (8000 inhabitants) and is a few kilometers south of Split. The economy of the town is based mainly on tourism and agriculture, the whole area is known for the quality of fruit that it produces, particularly peaches and cherries. 

Podstrana main attractions: The area is rich in lush vegetation (forests of tamarisk and pine), sandy beaches and rocks, and clear sea. The Podstrana coast with the town Strozanac, Grljevac, St. Martin and Mutogras stands out for its beautiful beaches of sand and pebbles. Interesting are some churches including: the church of St George, the baroque parish of St. Anthony and the church of St Martin.

How to get there: Podstrana is well connected with frequent public transport lines with Split and Omiš. The Split airport is only 30 km from Podstrana, and the port of Split where ferries arrive is only 10 minutes by car. 

Podstrana Climate: The climate of Podstrana is characterized by hot and dry summers and cold and rainy winters. The most rainy months are those from November to December. The best months to visit are those from May to September.
