Climate:
The climate in Estonia is continental, characterised by mild summers and fairly severe winters. The weather is often breezy and humid due to the proximity of the Baltic Sea. Average temperatures range from 21°C in summer (usually July is the hottest month) to - 8°C in winter. Although occasionally the temperature may rise to 30°C and above in summer, or sink below -23°C in winter.
Its northern latitude means long summer daylight hours (the longest summer day stretches to 19 hours), and dark winters when daylight sometimes lasts only six hours. Rainfall is distributed throughout the year with the heaviest rainfall between June and November. Heavy snowfalls are common in the winter months.
The best time to visit Estonia is in the late spring (May and June) and summer (June to early September). July and August are the warmest but often wettest months.
