The French National Railroads' (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer or SNCF) network of inter-city rail links also provides frequent express and high-speed train service known as the TGV or Train à Grande Vitesse. The high-speed network also includes European routes, featuring the Eurostar which connects Paris to London in just 2h35 and the Thalys going to Brussels and Amsterdam in 1h30 and 4 hours respectively. There are many attractive price options reserved for foreign travellers (Europass, Eurodomino, Inter-Rail.), which can be obtained from your country of origin before you leave. The major cities have metropolitan systems (Paris, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Rennes, Toulouse), or Tram systems (Bordeaux, Caen, Grenoble, Île-de-France, Le Mans, Lille - Roubaix/Tourcoing, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Mulhouse, Nancy, Nantes, Nice, Orléans, Rouen, Strasbourg, Valenciennes, Angers and Toulon). Taxis: You can take a taxi from taxi ranks, hail one in the street or book one by calling a taxi company. | |||||||||||||
