The Eiffel Tower is the symbol and the more famous monument of Paris, it was constructed, between 1887 and 1889, from the engineer Gustave Eiffel like a temporary structure in occasion of the Universal Exposure of the 1889, organized in order to celebrate the centenarian of the French Revolution. The Tower had to be pulled down after 20 years, but being useful for the wireless communications the structure was maintained beyond the previewed term.  

The Tower is found in the Champ de Mars in the vicinities of the Seine, it's an enormous iron tower 304 meters tall, for 40 years it was the highest structure in the world and it's still the highest building in Paris. For the construction of the Tower 7300 tons of iron were employed. The top of the Tower, the third floor, from which it's enjoyed a wonderful sight on the city, is reached through some lifts or in alternative making all the 1652 steps, the Tower has two restaurants one at the first floor and the other at the second floor. At the third floor, at a height of 274 meters is a panoramic terrace.  

To the south of Eiffel Tower, extends the Champ de Mars, the side more close to the Tower has English gardens with small lakes, while approaching to the building of the Ecole Militaire are wide characteristic geometric tree-lined avenues typical to the French gardens. The Ecole Militaire was constructed between 1751 and the 1773 from Jacques-Ange architect Gabriel.  

In order to reach the Eiffel Tower can be used the stations of the métro of Bir-Hakeim, Trocadero and of École Militaire.
