Paris (approximately 2,150,000 inhabitants, beyond 11,000,000 the metropolitan area), is the State Capital of France and the Capital of the region of the Île-de-France, the city is crossed from the Senna River, and represents the main pole of tourist attraction of France.

Disneyland Resort Paris, in Marne-la-Vallée (east periphery). The Palace of Versailles, the royal palace of Louis XIV and the monarchs succeeded him, is the greater tourist attraction of France. At last Unesco has inserted in the worlde heritage list the Palace and Park of Versailles (1979) and the Banks of the Seine (1991).

 

Public transportation in Paris: The Paris Transportation network is very diverse and exists literally over many levels, its bus, "Tram", the "Métro" and trains together all serve to maintain a high level of communication between the city's many different districts. The Métro is one of Paris' most important methods of transportation, the system comprises 16 lines with a total route length of 211 km, it serves 297 stations. Trains run from approximately 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day of the year on every station of the network. The RER (réseau express régional) is a network of large-calibre regional trains that run far into the suburbs of Paris. Paris' bus lines are its most developed form of transport, interconnecting all points of the capital and its closest suburban cities. There are a total of 58 bus lines operating in Paris.

Paris lies in the midst of the Ile de France region, which has France's lowest rainfall, however the city is known for its unexpected rain showers which can occur at any time of year. Summer temperatures are mild to warm, with occasional heat waves, while winters are very chilly with temperatures hovering around freezing point. It is hottest in July and August and coolest between December and February, though Paris is rarely freezing cold. Temperatures are plesant in the spring and autumn. August is the wettest month in Paris as well as the hottest. In August and September you risk getting caught in storms. Sudden showers, sometimes with bail, can occur between January and April, notoriously in March. There is occasional snow in winter. The climate is characterized by a lack of extremes, with an average temperature of 19 degrees C in July and 3 degrees C in January. The 585 mm of precipitation is well distributed throughout the year, often in the form of a soft drizzle.
