The island of Folegandros (32 sqkm, 670 inhabitants) is part of the Cycladic islands, it lies in the southern side of the archipelago, south-east of the island of Milos and west of Sikinos, the island is very small and is made up of three small villages, the capital of Chora, the port of Karavostassis and Ano Meria. The island is hilly and rises up to 445 meters high, it was held by Venice between 1207 and 1566.
