The island of Paxos or Paxi (19 sq. km and 3 000 inhabitants) is a small Greek island of the Ionian Sea, situated a few kilometers south of Corfu, off the Greek coast. The capital of the island is the small village of Gaios, the small island of Antipaxos (3 sq km, 64 inhabitants) is also part of the municipality of Paxos island, Antipaxos is located about 3 km to the south of Paxos.
The west coast of Paxos is wild and falls sharply to the sea with cliffs of white rocks rich in caves, while the east coast is more developed and populated, the interior of the island is covered with olive trees, the highest hill of the island reaches 248 meters in height. The island main activities are tourism and agriculture, it produce in particular olive oil.
