The island of Zakynthos (Zante) (406 sq km, 42 000 inhabitants) is located in the Ionian Sea, and is part of the Ionian islands archipelago, to whom is the southernmost island and the third largest island, it's located off the coast of the Peloponnese. 

The island, rich vegetation, it formed to the south-east from lowland areas, while to the west are the mountain ranges that along the coast ending in a rugged coastline, the highest peak of the island is the mount Vrahionas reaches 756 meters in height. The island main activity is tourism, famous are the sea turtles of Zakynthos, but also agriculture is an important source of income, it produces oil, wine, fruit and citrus.
