The north of the country, and much of the interior, enjoys true Arctic weather, with the temperature only rising above freezing for brief periods in the summer.
During the winter, temperatures range from - 5°C to - 30°C and in the summer from 4°C to 15°C. In the southern part of the country and the innermost parts of the long fjords, the temperature can, however, rise to more than 20° C in June, July or August. The air is generally very dry in Greenland, as the air in Greenland is very dry, temperatures do not feel as cold as in Europe. The summer, which often runs from June all the way into September, is Greenland’s high season.
