AIRPORTS and FLIGHTS: The main airport is Riga International Airport, it provides services to/from 35 European, Asian and American destinations in 24 countries: United States of America, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, Israel, Ireland, Russia, Great Britain, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Finland, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Germany, Sweden. Regular Flights From/To Riga: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, Kiev, London, Manchester, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, Munich, New York, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Rome, St Petersburg, Istanbul, Stuttgart, Tallinn, Tampere, Tashkent, Tel Aviv, Warsaw, Vilnius, Vienna.  

 

Liepaja Airport has regular charter flights to the Turkish resort of Antalia operated by Latcharter. The national airline AirBaltic operates a scheduled service to Riga four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The state air company is Air Baltic, the airlines that serves Latvia are: Aer Lingus, Aeroflot, Aerosvit Airlines, AirBaltic, Austian Airlines, Chech Airlines, EasyJet, Finnair, KLM Rotal Dutch Airlines, LatCharter Airlines, Lufthansa, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Polish Airlines LOT, Raf Avia Airlines, Ryanair, SAS, Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways.

 

SEA TRAVEL:

International Transport: Maritime transport links the three main seaports (Riga, Liepaja and Ventspils) with the other Baltic Sea countries.

Tallink: from Riga one route operates out of the ferry port, located remarkably close to the city centre: Riga-Stockholm-Riga.

DFDS Tor Line: operates cargo ships that also carry passengers between Rīga and Lubeck (Germany). 

Wm H Muller Baltic Ltd.: three regular ferry routes from Ventspils sail to Nynashamn (Sweden), Karlshamn (Sweden), Rostock (Germany).

SLK ferries: from Ventspils sail to the island of Mintu (Sāremā, Estonia).  

Terrabalt: Liepaja-Rostock (Germany), Liepaja-Karlshamn (Germany).

Latlines: Riga-Lübeck.

BUSES: Information about international and local routes, timetables, tickets costs, seats, reservations, changes etc can be obtained at the information centre located by the main station entrance Autoosta Rigas Starptautiska (Riga International Bus Station). Tickets for internal as well as international routes can be bought at main bus stations in other Latvian towns.

International connections: Bus routes have developed rapidly in recent years to link neighboring countries as well as more distant major European cities. Services are run by Ecolines, Eurolines Latvia and Nordeka.

National connections: The biggest bus carrier is joint-stock company A/S “Nordeka.

TRAINS:

International connections: there are good railway links with Russia and Belarus.

TAXIS: One can get a taxi at taxi stands or with the assistance of the reception desk at a hotel or flag down in the street. All taxis have meters and they are obliged to run accordingly.
