National connections: A sea plane service links Grand Harbour in Valletta to Mgarr Harbour in Gozo. Sea Travel: International Transport: A regular ferry and catamaran service links several Italian and Sicilian ports to Valletta, Malta's capital city. Several shipping lines serve some Mediterranean ports as well. Cruise ships call at the Grand Harbour in Valletta. Virtu Ferries: operates a hydrofoil with car transportation with departures from Catania and Pozzallo/Ragusa for Malta. MA.RE.SI. Shipping: connects with a ferry Malta with Catania and Reggio Calabria. Grimaldi Ferries: connects Salerno with Malta. Grandi Navi Veloci (Great Fast Ships): connect Genoa (Via Tunisi) with Malta. National connections: A regular ferry service carries passengers and cars between Malta and Gozo, taking about 20 minutes each way. There are also regular boat services between each island and Comino. Buses: Public transport is efficient and reasonably priced. The main bus terminus in Malta is in Valletta, just outside the City Gate. Express bus service links the principal resorts with Sliema, Marsaxlokk, Mdina, the Three Cities and the main sandy beaches. In Gozo, the bus terminus is in Main Gate Street, Victoria. Taxis: A new and eco-friendly way of getting about in Valletta and its surroundings is by CT Cab. Introduced in 2007, CT Cab operates a fleet of battery-powered, chauffeur-driven electric vehicles through the city of Valletta and its perimeters on a 'Hail & Ride' basis. The cost is a flat fee of 1 Euro per person, from any point to any point. The service runs from 7am till 11pm, 7 days a week.
