Tourist Guide and Information about Moldova

Moldova (Republica Moldova) is a republic of Central-Eastern Europe, which is bordered to the north, east and south by Ukraine, on the west by Romania. The major cities besides the capital Kisinev, are Tiraspol and Beltsy.

The territory of the country coincides roughly with the region of Bessarabia, a flat area between the Prut river, which marks the border with Romania, and the Dnestr river, which marks the border with Ukraine. The territory of Moldova is largely flat with spacing of low hills in the central part of the country reached the maximum height with the Balanesti Mont (430 meters).

The economy of Moldova is based on agriculture (cereals, potatoes, grapes, beet sugar) and on breeding. The few industries are concentrated in the capital and in the cities of Tiraspol, Belcy and Bendery.
