HOW TO GET AND MOVE TO POLAND: FLIGHTS, BUSES, FERRIES AND TRAINS

 

 

Airports and Flights: The main airports in Poland are Warsaw, Gdańsk, Katowice, Szczecin, Poznań, Wrocław and Kracow.

International Transport: Poland maintains regular connections with almost all the capital cities of Europe. Around fifty cities in more than thirty countries maintain direct flight connections with the capital of Poland. Okecie Airport in Warsaw is a stop-over for around 25 airlines, among them British Airways, SAS, Air France and Lufthansa. Poland also has direct intercontinental flight connections with the USA, Canada, Israel and Thailand. Airports in Gdańsk, Katowice, Szczecin, Poznań, Wrocław and Kracow have international connections.

Apart from the well-known European airlines Poland has several international connections operated by low budget airlines: Centralwings, Skyeurope, Norwegian, EasyJet, Wizzair, Germanwings, Air Berlin, Austrian, Ryanair, HLX.

 

National Transport: It is possible to travel between the larger cities by plane using domestic flights.

From Warszawa (Warsaw): Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, Krakow, Lodz, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Wrocław, Zielona Góra.

From Krakow: Gdańsk, Warszawa (Warsaw), Katowice.

From Gdańsk: Warszawa (Warsaw), Krakow, Wrocław.

From Wrocław: Gdańsk, Warszawa (Warsaw).

From Katowice: Warszawa (Warsaw).

From Poznań: Warszawa (Warsaw).

From Szczecin: Warszawa (Warsaw).

Maritime Transport: The main ports in Poland are Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin and Świnoujście.

International Transport: Poland is connect with the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Poland has direct connections with the cities of Ystad, Stockholm, Karlskrona, Kopenhagen, Nynäshamn and Rønne.

Trains:

International Transport: there are good railway links with most of the European countries.

National Transport:  The railway network in Poland is well developed. You can reach most places in the country by train. Intercity trains (fast and express) run between the larger cities without stopping at smaller stations.

Buses:

International Transport: There are numerous international coach companies serving the country and you can travel to and from many parts of Europe to Poland. Bus connections with Poland have been established with many countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Spain, Holland, Ireland, Lithuania, Morocco, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Ukraine, Great Britain and Italy. Large cities (such as Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk and others) are situated on European routes with many connections.

National Transport:  There are local bus services in every town in Poland and connections will take you right across the country. Coach travel in Poland is operated by national and regional carriers.
