USEFUL INFORMATION FOR A TRAVEL TO SERBIA

Travel Documents: A valid passport is required for all international visitors. Citizens of the following countries do not need to obtain visas: Nationals provided holding all types of passports: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Holy See (Vatican), Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands,Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Tunisia, United States of America.

No vaccinations are required. 

Health: With few exceptions, healthcare facilities are lacking in equipment, availability of medicines and service. The preparation of medical and health staff is generally good.

Hospitals and out-patient clinics typically work 24 hours a day. Emergency medical service is available everywhere 24 hours a day.

Pharmacies: Pharmacies are opened from 08.00 a.m. to 08.00 p.m. on working days and on Saturdays from 08.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m. Each city has a pharmacy that is open on Sundays and throughout the night.

Mobile Telephones: The country is covered with GSM 900/1800 mobile phone networks. The phones work works well in all large and medium cities and along highways, while within the country there are still some areas not covered.

Mobile Telephone Companies: MTS, Telenor, Vip.

Internet: The internet cafes are common in cities.

Money and Banks: The monetary unit of Serbia is the Dinar (CSD), 1 Dinar = 100 Para. Coins: 50 Para, 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 Dinar. Banknotes: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 1000 and 5000 Dinar.

International credit cards Visa, Master Card, Diners and others are accepted in the majority of stores, hotels and restaurants.

Banking Hours: Most banks are open from 08.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. on weekdays and from 08.00 a.m. to  03.00 p.m. on Saturdays. On Sundays there is usually a designated bank that maintains needed services.  

Electricity: Electrical current is 220 V; 50 cycles.  

Shopping hours: Food shops typically open at 06.00 a.m. and work until 09.00 p.m., both weekdays and Saturdays. Sundays they typically operate from 06.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m. Everywhere, there are stores open 24 hours a day. Markets are opened every day from 06.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m.

Post Offices: Most post offices are open from 08.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. on weekdays and from 08.00 a.m. to  03.00 p.m. on Saturdays. On Sundays there is usually a designated post office that maintains needed services.
