Travel Documents: Citizens of European Union countries and Switzerland, may cross the border using a valid personal identity document; however, their visit may not extend beyond thirty days. All those who need visas to visit Slovenia can get them at the Slovene Embassy or Consulate

Health: The level of health care in Slovenia is entirely comparable with the level of health care in the advanced countries of Europe. The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) gives European residents access to state-provided medical treatment.

Public telephones are operated with tokens or magnetic cards, which are available from newsagents, post offices and tobacco kiosks.

Mobile Telephones: The country is well covered with GSM 900/1800 mobile phone networks.

Mobile Telephone Companies: IziMobil, Mobitel, SIMobil, T2, Tusmobil, Debitel, Mmobil.

 

Internet: Internet is widely available in the cities and larger towns.

Money and Banks: Euro (EUR) is the official currency

Numerous bureaux de change are open outside banking hours throughout the country.

ATMs are readily available in major cities. Credit cards are widely accepted by hotels, restaurants and shops.

Major credit cards including American Express, Mastercard and Visa are accepted in large hotels, car rental companies and stores in the main cities.

Banking Hours: Banking hours are 8am to 12.30 pm, and 2 pm to 6 pm on weekdays, and from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturdays.

Electricity: Current is 220 V, 50 Hz.  

Shopping hours: Working hours are mostly nonstop without lunch time closing. Weekdays: 8:00 to 19:00; Saturdays: 8:00 to 13:00; Sundays and holidays: On duty pharmacies, etc., and some private stores.

Cuisine: Slovenia cuisine ranging from specialties influenced by Mediterranean cuisine, Mittle-European Cuisine and Eastern cuisine.
