TOURIST ATTRACTIONS: WHAT TO VISIT IN BAEZA
The visit of the city can begin from the little plaza del Populo, known also as plaza de los Leones, where we can admire the 16th century Casa del Populo, the Fuente de Los Leones and the Carniceria (an old butcher shop). Not far away is the renaissance-gothic Cathedral of Santa María work of Andrés de Vandelvira.
Between the main renaissance civil buildings of Baeza are the University, founded in 1538, the Palacio de Jabalquinto, the Ayuntamiento and some buildings in Plaza de España and in the Paseo de la Constitucíon. The gates of Ubeda and Cordoba and the arc of Baeza are between the few rests of today visible Arabic fortifications.
