Lanzarote (845 sq. km, 135 000 inhabitants) is the easternmost island of the Canary Islands, located northeast of the island of Fuerteventura and south of the small island of Graciosa, the island's capital is the city of Arrecife. Lanzarote is an island of volcanic origin, has a corrugated landscape made up of mountains and desert areas, particularly striking is the area of National Park Timanfaya. To the north is the highest peak, the mountain Peñas del Chaco, in the chain of Famara, which reaches 670 meters in height, to the south is the chain of Ajaches mountains (608 meters).
