ITINERARY OF 14 DAYS ACROSS ANDALUCIA

Here our itinerary in Andalusia:

1st day, SEVILLE

Arrive to the airport in Seville. From the moment that the flight arrived in the late evening, we have preferred to stay a night in a hotel in the proximities of the airport.

Night in SEVILLE: Hotel Catalonia Hispalis, Sevilla: We have chosen this hotel because it is found in the proximities of the airport in Seville.

2nd day, Seville-CARMONA-ECIJA-CORDOBA 150 kms

Follow the road E5 for Cordoba. Stop along the road to visit the towns of Carmona (38 kms) (Carmona, small town with a tower of the 15th century to imitation of the Giralda in Seville) and Ecija (92 kms) (Ecija, known for its bell tower in Baroque style).

Night in CORDOBA: Hotel Eurostars Maimonides, Córdoba: excellent three stars, situated in the center of the city to few footsteps from the Mesquita of Cordoba; very important thing, the hotel has a parking lot guarded to a reasonable price, good relationship quality/price. We stayed very good.

3rd day, CORDOBA

Whole day devoted to the visit of Cordoba. The visit of the city starts from the stupendous Mezquita (mosque), the most interesting building of Cordoba. The entrance is found where is the Patio de los Naranjos, an Arabic courtyard for the ablutions furnished with trees of orange tree and fountains, to the time of the Arabs all the 19 aisles of the mosque were open toward this courtyard, forming a suggestive scenographic effect, after the Christian conquest were built some chapels, that jeopardized this effect: the Capilla Villaviciosa with amazing arcades; and the Capilla Real in style Mudejar that became the pantheon of the Spanish sovereigns. In 1523 inside the mosque was initiated the construction of the Cathedral, finished in 1599, forming the extraordinary architectural match of church-mosque that we can admire today.

Night in CORDOBA: Hotel Eurostars Maimonides, Córdoba

In the plaza de la Corradera are the ruins of a Roman temple, the Renaissance Ayuntamiento and in the proximities the Romanesque church of St. Pablo. An escursion not to be missed to 7 kilometers from Córdoba, along the road N-437, are the ruins of the city of Medina Az-Zahra, a city of pleasure built in the 10th century from Abd al-Rahman III and completed by Almansur another splendid testimoniance of the Arabic domination in Cordoba.
