RIFFELSEE, MATTERHORN, ZERMATT ZERMATT, VALAIS-WALLIS, SWITZERLAND

The Riffelsee is an alpine lake that lies along the path, called Riffelseeweg, connecting Rotenboden (2815 m) and Riffelberg (2582 m) stations of Gornergrat railway. The trail has a length of about 3 km and can be travel between July and October. Beyond to the wonderful landscape of peaks, between which 29 summits beyond the 4000 meters, and glaciers that can be admire along the walk, the main attraction turns out to be the small lake Riffelsee on whose waters is reflected the majestic Cervino-Matterhorn (4,478 meters).
