WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK, ALBERTA |

|
| This is a
little park only 525 sq.km., it's more remote and less know than Banff and Jasper, annually it
receive about 350.000 vistors. In this park the mountains rise abruptly from the prairies,
this create a landscape of peaks, valleys and colourful rock formation set against the
grasslands. Waterton park was founded in 1895. Here is one of the best possibility to see
bears. Situated on the border between the two countries and offering outstanding scenery,
the park is exceptionally rich in plant and mammal species as well as prairie, forest, and
alpine and glacial features. Since 1995 it was inscribed by UNESCO in the world heritage
list. In this park we saw three grizzly: two baby and a big one! |
