HOWE SOUND and SEA TO SKY HIGHWAY |
The scenic Sea to Sky Highway (Highway 99) run parallel on the
eastern shoreline of Howe Sound for much of the 45 km between Horseshoe Bay and Squamish
at the head of Howe Sound. This road goes North from
Vancouver through Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton and Lilloet.
Howe Sound is North America's southernmost
fjord, located northwest of Vancouver and extending
from West Vancouver north to Squamish. Interesting stops along the road to Whistler are at
Shannon Falls (58 km north of Vancouver), Brandywine
Falls (107 km north of Vancouver). Between Whistler and Pemberton the Nairn Falls worth a
stop. |

SHANNON FALLS Provincial Park |
| Shannon Falls are located just off of Highway 99, 58 km north of Vancouver and 2
km south of Squamish.
Shannon
Falls is composed of a series of cliffs, rising 335 meters, making it the third highest
falls in the province. There is an easy 350 metre long walking trail
through the forest along Shannon Creek which leads to the viewpoint. This viewpoint
affords a spectacular view of the roaring falls. |

BRADYWINE FALLS Provincial Park |
| These
waterfalls are situated 47 km North of Squamish off Hwy 99.
Brandywine Falls Trail is a 10-15 minute walk beside the
river and through the forest to Brandywine Falls Viewpoint. The viewpoint over the falls
provides an excellent view of Daisy Lake and the surrounding area. The Brandywine Falls are spectacular 70
metre waterfall. |

WHISTLER |
Whistler is located on Highway 99, 120 km north of Vancouver.
The spectacular two-hour drive along the
Sea to Sky Highway (99 North), from Vancouver to Whistler offers views of Howe Sound and
passes by the town of Squamish. Whistler has been transformed in just over 25 years from
the tiny wilderness recreation community originally known as Alta Lake to the world famous
super-resort village with a population of 10,000. |

NAIRN FALLS Provincial Park |
| Situated
just 20 minutes north of Whistler, off Hwy 99, approximately 150 km north
of Vancouver, 92 km north of Squamish, 32 km north of Whistler.
The falls are 60 m high and a three kilometre round trip route (1
hour) will take you to the viewpoint. The trail starts at the day-use parking lot. |
