archipelago. It's an uplifted atoll with a raised corall reef called "makatea"
enclosing the hilly remains of the volcano at the center. Its population is 1300.

Mauke (18
sqkm) is the eastermost island of the archipelago. It's an uplifted atoll with a raised
corall reef called "makatea" enclosing a flat area at the center, that is the
remains of the old volcano. Its population is 700.

MITIARO
Mitiaro (22
sqkm) is an uplifted atoll with a raised corall reef called "makatea" enclosing
a flat area at the center, that is the remains of the old volcano. Its population is 300.

AITUTAKI
Aitutaki
(20 sqkm and 2500 inhabitants) it's a low hilly volcanic island surrounded by a barrier
reef with beautiful motus similar to Bora Bora.

This atoll
is 370 km northwest of Aitutaki, it was discovered by James Cook in 1774.
