PART 3: INSIDE THE CORRIDOIO VASARIANO FROM PONTE VECCHIO TO
PALAZZO PITTI
| Passed the Old bridge the "corridore" (the
"runner"), thus the Vasari called it, turns around to the medieval tower of the
Mannelli, then it crosses via dei Bardi in direction of Palazzo Pitti (Pitti Palace). The
Corridoio Vasariano lookout to the Church of Santa Felicita, from where the court assisted
to the celebrations without join with the people. It finishes, finally, in the
Giardino di Boboli (Boboli Garden), just close by the famous Grotta del Buontalenti (Buontalenti Cave). |

| In the
future in the aims of the new Uffizi museum, also called "Grandi Uffizi", the
Corridoio Vasariano will become "the aerial" escape of the Uffizi Museum. The
road covered, over the city, that will allow the permanent connection between the
Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti (Pitti Palace): an unique museal way that will offer the
homogenous understanding of the historical character of medicean and lorenese cultural
politics. Visits: at present the
Corridor is included in the special tour known as the "Percorso del Principe",
starting from Palazzo Vecchio, arranged for small groups accompanied by a guide. Visits
for students and scholars should be arranged with the Uffizi Gallery secretary.
