PALAZZO PRETORIO O DEL VICARIO
| The
Palazzo Pretorio or Palazzo del Vicario, is located on the highest point of the hill, the
Pretorian Palace was built as from the XII century. It was the residence of the Florentine
governors. On the façade you can see several marble, stone crests, as well as valuable
examples of glazed earthenware crests, by the school of Della Robbia. Inside, visitors can
admire works by Pier Francesco Fiorentino along with the “Tabernacolo dei
Giustiziati” (Tabernacle of the executed people), by Benozzo Gozzoli and his
workshop. A section of the museum is devoted to the Etruscan and Roman archaeological
