questa bella abbazia si trovano a 2 km da Magliano in Toscana.
L'abbazia di San Tiburzio (San Bruzio) fu fondata nel XI secolo
dai Camaldolesi e la sua costruzione fu terminata verso la fine del XII secolo. Oggi
dell'abbazia, dopo secoli d'abbandono, restano il presbiterio e due parti del transetto
oltre a tracce della cupola ottagonale. L'architettura di San Bruzio è il più
bell'esempio di arte romanica in Maremma. Negli scarsi resti è possibile ammirare molte
sculture, che possono solo far immaginare come doveva essere lo splendore dell'abbazia al
tempo del suo massimo splendore.

The ruins of this beautiful abbey are situated about 2 km
from Magliano in Toscana.
The abbey of San Tiburzio (San Bruzio)
was begun around to the 11th. century from the Camaldolesi and finished towards the end of
the 12th. century. Of the Abbey, after centuries of abandonment, today survives the rests
of the presbitery, two parts of the transet and traces remains of the octagonal cupola .
The architecture of San Bruzio it's the most beautiful example of Romanesque art in
Maremma. Between the scarce rests of today we can admire many sculptures and we can just
imagine which was the splendor of the church in the times of its maximum splendor. |
