Moorea is
located 17 kilometers west of Tahiti, it has an area of 132
square kilometers and a population of 12,000 persons. Mount Tohivea its the tallest
volcanic peak, having an altitude of 1,207 meters. Moorea has remarkably beautiful
scenery, which include jagged mountains, turquoise lagoons and long white sand beaches
(the most beautiful is Temae beach). In my opinion the mountain scenary of Moorea is the
most beautiful of the entire Society Islands.
