Reao is the easternmost inhabited atoll in
the Tuamotu Archipelago, its lagoon is completely enclosed.

A
triangular-shaped atoll 5.7 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers at its widest. Puka Puka
is 1,190 kilometers from Papeete. The only village is that of Teonemahina situated in the
western part of the atoll. The first European to discover Puka Puka was Magellan in 1521.

NAPUKA
Napuka
atoll is 7 kilometers in length and 3.5 kilometers wide. There is no pass through the
coral reef. The land area of 32 motu inside the lagoon is 812 hectares. The lagoon
has an area of 1,810 hectares and measures 9 kilometers in length by 3 kilometers in
width. The village of Tepukamaruia is located on a motu to the east, there is also an
aerodrome located in the southern part of this motu.
