Maiao,
situated 70 km. southwest of Moorea, is a mostly flat island
with a small mountainous center, has an area of 10 sq. km. and a population of 220. Its
highest point is an hill 154 meters high, on each side of this hill is a lake.

TUPAI or MOTU ITI
A beautiful
atoll situated 13 km northwest of Bora Bora. James Cook was
the first European to discover Tupai in 1769. The atolls lagoon is about 8
kilometers by 3 kilometers.

TETIAROA
Situated
only 50 kilometers north of Tahiti. Formerly owned by
the royal Pomare family, the atoll today belongs to movie actor Marlon Brando.

MEHETIA
Mehetia is
an uninhabited small vulcanic island lying about 95 km SE of the Taiarapu peninsula on Tahiti. It has an area of 2,3 sq. km. and its tallest point is
435 meters. British Captain Wallis was the first European to discover Mehetia in 1767.
This atoll
is located in the western Leeward islands, 160 km west of Maupiti.
It has a total land area of 2,6 sq. km. The atoll is part of the commune of the
island of Maupiti.

MANUAE or SCILLY
This atoll
is located in the western Leeward islands, west of Maupiti,
is the westernmost island of the Society islands, 550 kilometers west of Tahiti. The first European
to discover Scilly was British Captain Samuel Wallis in 1767.

This atoll
